JUNIOR RIVER RANGER PROGRAM
This free and inclusive primary schools program fosters learning around the responsibilities future generations have as custodians of our inland rivers.

Delivering a series of age-appropriate workshops and practical on ground activities the program passes down knowledge and values associated with looking after country, empowering students to be aware and active in protecting these special places.
Outcomes provide students with an understanding of:

-
sustainable cultural fishing practices and how this is linked to modern fishing regulations developed to conserve native fish.

-
how traditional land management practices increase biodiversity and the critical role this plays in keeping rivers healthy.

Students also get the chance to actively participate in a habitat restoration project to improve the health of a local waterway.

River Dreaming Aboriginal Corporation proudly supports Junior Landcare and participating schools will be encouraged to establish a Junior Landcare group.
The Junior Landcare Learning Centre hosts a library of valuable teaching resources and learning outcomes that are supported by national curriculum and framework links.
